The Battle Of - Eye Make Up Removers

Eye make up removers were something I never really bought until I got good at liquid eyeliner and quickly realised it resembled permanent marker and a nightmare to get off!

The first one I purchased was the Nivea Daily Essentials Double Effect Eye Make Up Remover (now thats a mouthful). Its designed for all skin types and can remove waterproof mascara and you just shake it before use to mix up the product. I was quite happy with how it removed my eye make up, although when it came to mascara it could have been better.

I wouldn't necessarily suffer from sensitive skin but around my eye area has had bad reactions to some products in the past and this is one of them. I found it stung my eyes quite badly and made it almost impossible to use, thats why I decided to try another one. I wanted a similar product to compare it to the Nivea one so I picked up the Garnier Express 2 in 1 Eye Make Up Remover because you have to shake it the same way to mix up the product.

This one was miles better, when it came to removing mascara, waterproof or not, it did a far better job and never once stung my eyes. The stinging was the most important part for me, I wanted one that was comfortable to use and this is it.

After using them both, the skin around my eyes felt really soft and moisturised and neither one are greasy. Now the Garnier one could just as easily sting your eyes but if you tend to have a sensitive eye area I would advise to stay away from the Nivea one, it never damaged or irritated the skin, it was always just my eye itself.

In terms of better product, all round it is definitely the Garnier one! It removes a lot more make up without the scrubbing, even stubborn eyeliner. It also contains Arginine which leaves a protective layer over your lashes that can help prevent them falling out. Win Win!
